Fifth Grade Activities: | Organize social events for fifth grade students during their “graduating” year. Past activities include open gym, roller skating, ice cream social, space assembly, year-end picnic, and memory books. | Laura Lang & Kim Cichon |

Gift Cards: | Sell and distribute gift cards from local and major stores on a monthly basis as an additional fundraiser. | Elizabeth Straczek |
Gift Wrap: | Fall fundraiser that provides our PTA with the funds to run many of our programs throughout the year. Chairperson publicizes the fundraiser, manages order forms, and distributes the products. | Jennifer Minelli & Modie Eggebrecht |
Health and Fitness: | Provide information and organize activities regarding health, fitness, and safety issues affecting our children. | Susan Ruiz & Susan Kloser |
Helping Hands: | In the event of a family emergency (i.e. family illness), volunteers on this committee provide food, babysitting, and other services as appropriate. | Julie Lannert |
Hospitality: | Volunteers provide refreshments for meetings and special events that are held at our school throughout the year. | Stephanie Sunu & Paula Lagioia |
Leaping Into Literature: | Read-aloud lunchtime program offered for a four week period to first and second graders. Third thru fifth grade have one assigned classroom read-aloud time during National Children's Book Week, November 13-19. Learning Resource Center: | Volunteers assist the librarian in the LRC. Volunteers must be available to work one 2-3 hour shift either weekly or bi-weekly. | Kay Wilson & Janet Gilbertson |
Market Day: | Organize volunteers to distribute order forms, unpack delivery truck, and pre-sort orders once a month. | Patti Philippe & Linda Pizzato |
Membership: | Promote PTA membership campaign and distribute membership cards. | Wendy Zardzin |
Parent Activities: | Organize social and educational events throughout the year for parents only. Past events have included Bunco Night and professional speakers on parental issues. | Jean Minasian |
Plant Sale: | Organize spring fundraiser by placing orders and coordinating volunteers to assist with plant distribution.. Usually held the week before Mother’s Day, this fundraiser also provides a major source of funding for our many PTA programs. | Jackie Best & Amy Mick |
PTA Paw Press: | The PTA publishes its own bi-weekly newsletter containing information about upcoming events and other PTA issues. | Julia McDonnell & Katie Szafarz |
Publishing Center: | Volunteers work with staff members to complete laminating and book binding projects for classrooms. Committee members will be trained in using workroom equipment. | Marni Finder |
Room Representatives: | Organize and assist parent volunteers in planning classroom parties, coordinate field trip chaperones, and various other classroom activities requested by the teacher or PTA.. Chairperson oversees selection process, including lottery, if necessary. | Renee Brummitt |
School Supplies: | Coordinate the sale and distribution of boxed school supplies offered to all students. | Laura Mariani |
Special Lunches: | Volunteers are needed to help serve hot lunches during the six special lunch Wednesdays. | Roberta Flack & Lisa Tenuta |
Spirit Wear: | Organize the sale and distribution of Lions Park logo spirit wear, offered in Fall and Spring. | Jennifer Locigno & Debbi Spagnola- DeVeirman |
Staff Appreciation Week: | Plan and execute activities to honor Lions Park staff throughout Staff Appreciation Week in May. Volunteers provide food and assist with various activities. | Noreen Bongiorno & Sandy Blethen |
Staff Service Recognition: | Committee members are responsible for recognizing staff on special days such as School Nurse’s Day, Secretary’s Day, Custodian’s Day, etc. as well as recognizing staff retirees with gifts and memorial bricks. | Joanne Palczynski & Gina Ciulla |
Summer Skills: | Coordinate the sale of Summer workbooks offered to Lions Park families for purchase at a discounted rate. | Laura Mariani |
Turkey Shoot: | A fun family basketball shooting event where the winning family teams take home frozen turkeys, desserts, etc. | Jodi Compton |
Variety Show: | Chairpersons publicize the all-school winter variety show, preview acts, coordinate the performances, and orchestrate the dress rehearsal and show. | Mary Caldrone & Lorelei McDermott |
Ways and Means: | Review and evaluate viability of current fundraisnig programs, investigate potential earnings of new fundraising opportunities, and present recommendations to PTA Executive Board. Currently this committee is assigned to the PTA EC 2nd VP. | Tina Bellows |
Web Page: | Maintain the PTA web page, including updating committee information, publicizing special events, and scanning photos. Computer skills are required. | Dave Szafarz |
Winter Wonderland Breakfast: | Volunteers organize and prepare a holiday event for all Lions Park families to enjoy. This Saturday morning event has included a breakfast, face-painting, a book fair, and a special visit from Santa.. | Ann Roberson & Kathy Orel |
Yearbook / Publicity: | Volunteers from each grade level photograph special school events/activities throughout the year.
